If there’s one thing Graham Norton has learned from the coronavirus pandemic, it’s that he’s far from ready to retire. The 58-year-old presenter thought he would take on fewer jobs last year, but he actually didn’t like it as much as he thought.
“I felt like I was going to slow down, just take my foot off the accelerator a little bit,” Graham said in an interview with The Mirror. “But the opposite happened. I’m busier than ever now.” As well as having his own TV show, Graham also hosts Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK and does a radio show.
“I thought I wanted to retire, but during the first lockdown I probably got a taste of what that would be like and I didn’t like it,” continues the Briton. “Then I thought: I’m actually quite lucky to be able to work at all.”
The presenter of The Graham Norton Show, for example, believes that days off in retirement are no longer as valuable as they are now. “That you have to be somewhere or that someone wants you to go somewhere and that you have a purpose for your free time makes it different.”
