“Hello, I am an aspiring teacher, class of competition A18, who must fill in the application for inclusion in the provincial rankings for substitutes, GPS, expiring on August 6, 2020.
In the period 2017-2018 I taught in several high schools, ‘Communication’, more precisely I brought to these schools a project I devised in this matter. Each school issued me with a document attesting to my teaching for several hours, for many days in the classes. Can my teaching activity be considered for ranking points and if so how?”
“Other teaching activities” disappeared
In the ex table of qualifications for class III, in addition to the specific and non-specific service, it was possible to evaluate the “other teaching activities”, which included
“For any other non-curricular or, in any case, purely didactic teaching activity carried out at:
- the schools referred to in points 1 and 2;
- teaching courses in the primary, secondary and artistic sectors;
- Italian or EU university education institutions, recognized for the purpose of issuing legal qualifications;
- state and balanced higher education institutions;
- the Academies;
- the Conservatives;
- courses at state administrations;
- courses at public bodies or authorized and controlled by the latter. “
Therefore non-curricular teaching activities or educational activities not carried out at school (university teaching, subject expert, tutoring …)
The evaluation
- for each month or part thereof over 15 days: 0.50 points (up to a maximum of 3 points for each school year);
This section is no longer present in the tables attached to OM no. 60/2020 and does not find a fee in them.
According to the reading of the tables, they have been eliminated.
The confirmation comes from the note of the Ministry of 22 July: The so-called “other teaching services” are not foreseen and therefore cannot be loaded into the system.
Therefore, even if the teacher in the rankings had been able to declare these services and received a score for them, in the 2020/22 update he will not be able to rely on these activities.
Answer to the question
The competition class A-18 allows you to teach the following disciplines in high schools:
- philosophy;
- human Sciences.
In technical and professional institutes:
- communication theory;
- communication techniques.
Our reader talks about a generic project that talks about communication and therefore falls within the non-curricular didactic activities, even though they are probably related to the area of the formative offer of the high schools where she worked. It is plausible that an atypical contract was signed with the subject:
- other non-curricular teaching activity.
As we reported in the previous paragraph, the other teaching services / activities cannot be loaded into the system and consequently cannot be evaluated for the purposes of the score.
To further support this claim regarding the lack of evaluation of the other teaching activities, there is article 15 paragraph 3 of OM 60/2020 which states verbatim:
“The services provided with atypical contracts, not for employees, stipulated in peer schools or in vocational training centers on curricular courses or on a support post, are evaluated, exclusively for the purpose of assigning the score in the rankings referred to in this ordinance , for the entire period, according to the criteria laid down for employment contracts “.
Once again it is underlined how the service, in order to be evaluable, must be curricular.
Finally, on 3 August the Ministry released a new FAQ which confirms the impossibility of evaluating “other teaching activities”
