Governor of Lampung Responds to Airlangga’s Insult Over Damaged Road Viral Video

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The governor of Lampung and chairman of the DPD Golkar Lampung, Arinal Djunaidi, responded to the insult from the general chairman of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto, who brought up the viral damaged road until President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) intervened.

Meanwhile, Airlangga poked fun at Arinal in front of the heads of Golkar DPD throughout Indonesia when opening the 2023 Golkar National Work Meeting (Rakernas) at the Golkar Party DPP Office, West Jakarta, Sunday (4/6/2023).

A number of leaders and the expert council of the Golkar Party were also present at the opening of the 2023 National Working Meeting.

Responding to Airlangga’s criticism, Arinal did not comment much. He also asked journalists to change the topic of the question.

“Never mind, let’s just talk about Golkar,” said Arinal when met after the opening of the 2023 Golkar National Working Meeting.

Arinal asked that they only talk about politics and the future.

The reason is, Arinal is worried that there will be a misinterpretation if he gives an explanation regarding Airlangga’s remarks.

“Later there will be a misinterpretation, a wrong explanation, a mistake, it will become a polemic again,” he said.

However, with the disbursement of funds from the central government of IDR 800 billion for road repairs in Lampung, Arinal hopes that in the future the roads in Lampung will be smooth.

Arinal is even proud of Lampung, which is now famous because of the damaged road virus.

“Because this struggle is extraordinary. Lampung has become famous. And we have to prove it so that he becomes famous,” added Arinal.

Previously, Airlangga Hartarto called the Governor of Lampung Arinal Djunaidi extraordinary.

This was the viral aftermath of the damaged road in Lampung which had become the public spotlight, even making President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) visit Lampung.

Airlangga said that Arinal, who is also chairman of the Golkar Lampung DPD, received funds of IDR 800 billion from Jokowi to repair damaged roads.

Initially, Airlangga alluded to the world’s current situation which was not well.

“The situation is full of challenges. I’m talking about geopolitical issues going forward, feuds between numbers 1 and 2, we’re talking global feuds, not national ones,” said Airlangga.

The numbers 1 and 2 that Airlangga is referring to are the United States and China. The feud between the two is getting higher and hotter.

Apart from that, he said, the war that took place between Russia and Ukraine had not been finished until now.

Then, only then did Airlangga offend the Governor of Lampung.

“We are also facing climate change. We DPD chairmen must understand that it is not only national roads that are winding, Governor of Lampung,” he said to laughter from the audience.

Airlangga mentioned that the governor of Lampung is a shrewd figure. Moreover, Lampung has been injected with funds of Rp. 800 billion to repair damaged roads.
