Government of India Bans Its Citizens from Starlink Internet Subscription

Jakarta

The Indian government calls on its citizens not to subscribe to its internet Starlink, satellite constellation project developed SpaceX founded Elon Musk.

The appeal was disseminated on Friday (26/11) local time. The statement is inseparable from Starlink not yet having a license to operate in Bollywood.

The Government of India has urged that Starlink comply with the regulations in his country and to refrain from providing internet services to customers in India.

Regarding the Indian Government’s suggestion that its citizens not subscribe to its internet service, Starlink only responded by not commenting for now.

Quoted from Reuters, Sunday (11/28/2021) Starlink has opened registration since November 1. Starlink targets the provision of internet access in remote areas of India.

The company is even aiming for 200 thousand Starlink devices to be used in the Indian market by December 2022, 80% of which are available throughout India. Starlink said there were already 5,000 pre-orders for the device in India.

Unlike the other satellite players, Starlink consists of thousands of tiny satellites sent en masse to low Earth orbit.

With a distance that is not too far between the satellite and the Earth, it has an impact on lower latency. These advantages can be utilized by users for the needs of video calls, gaming, or other activities in cyberspace.

The low orbit of the Starlink satellite can also cover a much smaller area, which is why a large number of satellites are orbited to provide internet access all over the Earth.
