Government and national associations study the purchase and application of vaccines against covid by private parties

During the ‘Prevention and Action’ program on March 17, the Ministry of Health (MinSalud) assured that it continues to work so that private companies can acquire and apply the vaccine against covid-19 in Colombia.

This same Tuesday, the portfolio representative, Fernando Ruiz, said that he met with the director of the Administrative Department of the Presidency of the Republic (Dapre) and representatives of unions from all over the country to evaluate how this sector can be linked to the Plan National Vaccination.

“We met with Víctor Muñoz, director of Dapre, and representatives of the business union committee to discuss the issue of vaccination by private parties. In this meeting we took three definitions to advance on this point in the country “Ruiz said on the show.

The strategy contemplated by the Government includes the following points:

1. Creation of a work table to study the possibility of application of the vaccine by private parties.

2. Creation of a work table to evaluate whether private companies could purchase vaccines to immunize their employees and their families.

3. Issue a resolution that allows private companies to negotiate directly with vaccine providers.
