Göttingen: Double murderer sentenced to life imprisonment

The Göttingen Regional Court has sentenced a 53-year-old to life imprisonment for the murder of two women. The man was found guilty of murdering his ex-girlfriend and her work colleague on the street and injuring two helpers in September 2019.

After the fact the then 52-year-old fled across southern Lower Saxony. He was recognized by the railway staff on a regional train and locked in a compartment. But the man smashed a window with the emergency hammer, jumped out of the window at Elze train station near Hildesheim and escaped. One and a half days after the crime, the police arrested him in downtown Göttingen.
