While Boston started their series against Carolina with a success, Philadelphia narrowly dominated Montreal while the Colorado Avalanche did not have any difficulties against the Arizona Coyotes.

Boston Advantage. This Wednesday, the Bruins disposed of the Carolina Hurricanes (4-3 ap), for their first game of the first round of the NHL play-offs, in the Eastern Conference, on the side of the “bubble” of Toronto, at the Scotiabank Arena , behind closed doors. A victory that came after two extra times. Originally, this meeting should have taken place on Tuesday, but it was eventually postponed due to the particularly impressive duration of the first game between Tampa Bay and Columbus. Despite their victory, the Bruins were nevertheless well behind the score, thanks to a goal from Joel Edmundson, after 13 minutes of play, before turning the situation around and even staying ahead (2-1, 3-2), following the achievements of David Pastrnak, Charlie Coyle and David Krejci. 10 minutes from the end of the third period and therefore the match, the Hurricanes ended up equalizing through Haydn Fleury. The two franchises therefore headed for the extension and it was Patrice Bergeron who ended up relieving his family.

Philadelphia resisted against Montreal, Bellemare and Roussel victorious

First in the Eastern Conference, the Philadelphia Flyers did not have an easy start in the play-offs. For their first game against the Montreal Canadiens, Sean Couturier’s teammates (4 shots) came out by the smallest of margins. Jakub Voracek opened the scoring on the power-play midway through the first period before seeing Shea Weber equalize five minutes from the end of the second for a Canadiens one more on the ice. The Flyers will have waited only 16 seconds to definitely gain the advantage thanks to Joel Farabee (2-1). Also in the West, the New York Islanders dominated the Washington Capitals (2-4). On the French side, the night was auspicious. Aligned with the Colorado Avalanche, Pierre-Edouard Bellemare took part in the victory against Arizona Coyotes (3-0) which took shape in the last ten minutes. In just over a minute, Nazem Kadri on the power play, then JT Compher and Mikko Rantanen gave the Avalanche victory. More discreet, Antoine Roussel spent seven minutes on the ice during Vancouver’s success against St. Louis (2-5). Bo Horvat opened the scoring for the Canucks before David Perron equalized for the Blues. The second period saw the same scenario with Elias Petterson and Jaden Schwartz responding to each other. It wasn’t until the last 20 minutes that Vancouver made the difference through Troy Stecher, Bo Horvat and JT Miller.
