Good Friday shooting: – – Wanted to scare

On the night before Good Friday, several shots were fired at a car at Mortensrud in Oslo. Two shots hit the windshield of the car. One knocked tiles off the door frame on the driver’s side. Glass and plastic fiber spray in the direction of the driver.

The other projectile drifted through the windshield and into the dashboard of the black electric car that came driving by Lofsrud school.

At 01.53 at night, the police received the first report of the shooting. When they arrived at the scene, the patrol found an empty shell and a sharp cartridge.

Young men charged

On Monday, the judge put the trial of four young men on the bench. The youngest turned 18 just after he was released from custody.

All are charged with attempted murder with a sentence of 21 years. None of the four pleaded guilty, but one of the accused, a 21-year-old man, has explained in interrogation that he was at the scene and shot at the car.

He believes there were no attempted murders.

Criminal background

The victim in the case, a 35-year-old man, began his explanation with a detailed description of his life on the wrong side of the law. An explanation that did not go unnoticed.

Several young people had appeared outside the district court and shouted insults at the man during a court break. Victims had to be escorted away from the court after testifying.

– I have been an active criminal for 22 years. There is gross violence, weapons and shootings in public spaces. The latest case is from 2018, the man told the court.

The 35-year-old has been convicted of a shooting episode at Lambertseter in 2018, but the verdict has been appealed to the Court of Appeal and will be processed next year.

In court, the man said that he had tried several times to distance himself from the criminal life.

– Is there anyone who is looking for you, State Attorney Tonje Thønder asked.

– People like to try. There are four here now and several other criminals have tried. You give and get back. It’s hard and tough. These are choices I have made and must take the consequences of. I have been involved in crime longer than any of these have lived, the man says and meets the eyes of the four on the indictment bench.

Was hit

According to the offended man, he started the evening at home before getting in the car and taking a drive.

– I drove past Lofsrud school. I see two or three covered boys. They look at me and I see several people in the schoolyard, he explained to the three judges.

The car journey continued towards the petrol station at E6. When he drove back he saw several movements at the school. The 37-year-old explained that he lives close by and that he wanted to check out what was happening.

– Some show up at school. A bullet enters the window. I’m hit by a lot of glass. The second shot goes through the window on the passenger side, he said in court.

– I thought I was hit. For me, this came completely out of the blue. I did not have anything unresolved with anyone, he explained.

New shooting episode

Several of the defense attorneys tried to ask him what happened after the shots fell, but here the memory of the man failed.

That same night, about two hours later, it was shot again. This time the crime scene is right next to the shopping center in Bjørndal. The police stated the same evening that they saw the shooting episodes in context.

In court, it is suggested that this shooting episode came as a result of the incident earlier in the evening.

Four people are charged with the shooting episode. The 35-year-old is one of the accused, but claims he is innocent. The man believes he has an alibi and that he was in contact with the police when the shots fired at Bjørndal.

Dagbladet experiences that this is true, but a car similar to the one used by the victim was filmed in Bjørndal shortly after the second shooting episode.

– Would scare

The 21-year-old, who has admitted to having shot, also explained himself in court today.

– A few hours before the incident, I was told that someone was going to take me. Someone was going to kill me, he said.

The accused further explained that he had borrowed a gun from a friend

– I would try to scare the one who would take me, said the 21-year-old.

In a police interview, he has explained that there were several who were to be taken and that the victim was one of several who were to kill him. He said the victim drove past several times.

– I ran down the road. The car had passed. I aimed at the car and fired a shot. It was about 20 meters from me. After I had shot, I ran after the car and saw if it drove on and that the danger was over. Then I turned to run. The thought was always scary, he said.

The police have investigated the case extensively and will present video from surveillance cameras, teledata and seizure of weapons.
