He is a holder of the Order of Labor, three times winner of the Golden Helm of the Union of Bulgarian Motorists, five times winner of the Bulgarian Tourism Association. He brought all the cars of “Agrobusinessbank”, the buses of Botev and Spartak Plovdiv from Switzerland. Participates in 30 films. He is a personal friend and driver of Georgi Parcalev and Stoyanka Mutafova. More recently, he was the personal driver of Hristo Danov and Slavcho Atanasov when he was mayor of Plovdiv.

Georgi Popov is the son of one of the founders of Lokomotiv Plovdiv – Hristo Popov, known as Ito Tanka.

“My greatest pride is that I have many friends. There is nothing greater than God and friendship. Everything is temporary – it passes, but friendship remains forever,” Joro Popov used to say.
