Honolulu – Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama has won his eighth PGA Tour tournament, tying the record for Asian golf pros. The Masters winner prevailed in Honolulu in the jump-off with an eagle against Russell Henley at the first attempt.
After the four rounds, both pros in Hawaii had 257 shots. In the last nine holes, 29-year-old Matsuyama caught up five strokes behind. “I got rolling,” he said. Alongside Matsuyama, South Korean KJ Choi also has eight wins on the North American professional tour.
