This wasn’t just about his personal drama earlier in the week when he fractured his kneecap after slamming into an unwary official. It went much deeper, referring to the terrible accident in 2018 of Jelle van Gorkom. He also withstood the pain for his buddy, knowing that what Kimmann felt was nothing compared to what Van Gorkom is still going through.
