Gold is rising again in the local market, and 21 karat records an increase of 11 pounds in today’s trading

Ihab Wassef, deputy head of the goldsmiths division at the Cairo Chamber, said that gold prices had risen again in the local markets by the end of the day, after prices had stabilized at the beginning of trading.

Wassef explained in a press statement, that the 21 caliber rose from 855 pounds per gram in morning trading to 867 pounds per gram at the end of the day, and the 18 caliber rose from 732.8 pounds to 743.1 pounds, and the 24 caliber increased from 977 pounds to 990 pounds.

Continued, the price of the pound of gold also increased from 6840 pounds to 6936 pounds during today’s trading.

He pointed out that the increase in prices locally was linked to the rise in gold prices again in today’s trading, as the price of an ounce rose from 1931 dollars to 1966 dollars.

And gold prices strengthened its global gains to more than 21 dollars when settling transactions on Thursday with the weak value of the US dollar, as the yellow metal benefited from a drop that dominated the US currency, making gold less expensive for holders of other currencies.

Gold had broken the 2000 dollar an ounce mark, recording the highest ever historical price of 2058 dollars, before declining again.
