On Saturday, EHC Red Bull Munich drew level with leader Mannheim in the PENNY DEL group south. After the 4-2 win at the bottom of Nuremberg, both teams now have 27 points, but the Eagles have played one game less. For Munich it was the third success in a row, while the Ice Tigers had to accept the eighth defeat in a row and have been waiting for a victory since January 10th.

In contrast to the recent debacles in Ingolstadt, the Franconians showed a committed performance on their own ice. It wasn’t enough against the clever and visually superior Munich team. Two power play goals shortly after the start of the second and third section put EHC Red Bull on the road to victory. Philip Gogulla scored twice for the guests, Yasin Ehliz and Justin Schütz scored one goal and one assist each.
