God, what a fool I am! Why did I need this, cried the “shooter” from the French High School

  • Headmistress: He didn’t brandish a weapon, he is a good student, he got a 5 in math the previous class
  • Due to absences since November, he is on a transfer warning, but by law a 12th grader cannot transfer
  • Classmates on Facebook: He carries knives and boxing gloves, he scares us

God, what a fool I am! Why did I need this?!, the 18-year-old French High School student was shaking and crying last Thursday when it was revealed he walked into class with a gun. “He is neither crazy nor sane. Nowhere did I read that he brandished a weapon, there is no such thing. He has A’s and A’s, he was tested for a maths term last class and got a very good 5. Like any teenager, he reacts violently if he is attacked, and vice versa when he is approached in a good way”.

This is what the director of the elite school, Emilia Bogdanova, told “24 Chasa”.

On the afternoon of January 26, classmates noticed that in the history lesson the boy took out something like a plastic plate in which he arranged metal balls. The director understood that “the thing is pneumatic, and the balls are called caps”.

The historian did not see what exactly the boy was doing, but he sent for people from the management. No more than 20 minutes passed before the police arrived. The class dispersed. Only a few teenagers remained, who gave explanations to the uniformed men. The nurse offered them water, a

Another cried that the incident ruined her birthday. It’s your fault, a young man shot at the headmistress.

“When someone needs to be helped, the school is the only one. When something happens, the school is to blame”, Emilia Bogdanova is angry.

The adult teenager, who was charging his charger in class, explained that his grandparents live in Gorna Banya and

He testified in the First District Court. He also showed a certificate of ownership of the gun.

However, his classmates wrote on Facebook: This is not the first time he has carried weapons on school grounds. Before, students have seen him carrying knives and boxing gloves in his bag. He has shown his aggressive behavior towards others on more than one occasion – there have even been cases where he has

sent threats to their own

classmates The teachers are aware of his problematic behavior. Because of these misdeeds, he was expelled from school some time ago.

In the publication of his classmates from the 12th grade, a profile story, it is also claimed that the boy had mental problems. The youth say they are afraid and vow to write to all institutions until action is taken.

At the beginning of the year, the same student entered a French class with his cousin. They wrote him a note. He also received another for behavior, and due to 9 unexcused absences in November, he was given a warning to transfer to another school.

“Yes, but 12th graders cannot be transferred – the law prohibits it in the last year of high school. I can warn him about something that cannot happen to him. This is madness. We have lost all leverage for pedagogical impact. The school must notify social services of any sanction. We did it, but the reaction was zero”, says Bogdanova, who has 36 years of work experience.

She refutes comments on social networks that the boy’s parents are generous donors and therefore there are no measures. For a year now, the high school has received only one television for the teacher’s room, but from a different father. Nor were senior government officials. It is about an average Bulgarian family with one child, says the director.

I remember the uproar about 10 years ago, when the school installed one of the first turnstiles at the entrance. Then fake bomb alerts are fashionable. The parents jumped that the students’ freedom was being violated. Bogdanova emphasizes that the safety of children has always been her first priority. She told her colleagues: “As strange as it may sound to you, it doesn’t matter to me whether you learn them. It is important to me that, having sent them from home here alive and well, we bring them back alive and well.”

Today there will be a pedagogical council at the school, the parents of the 12th grader are expected at the meeting.
