This incident highlights a recurring issue in India, where fires are frequent due to factors such as inadequate building safety standards, overcrowding, and insufficient adherence to safety regulations. Recent examples include a fire in Hyderabad in May that killed at least 17 people, and a Kolkata hotel blaze in April that resulted in at least 15 fatalities. In May 2024, a fire at an amusement park arcade in Gujarat claimed the lives of at least 24 people, attributed to a lack of safety standards and a collapsed structure near the entrance.
