GMBI Member of Maung Lodaya Statue Rider Arrested!

The police have named 11 members of the Indonesian Bottom Society Movement (GMBI) as suspects in an anarchist demonstration at the West Java Regional Police. The rider on the Maung Lodaya statue was also included in the 11 suspects.

“Yesterday (the suspect) was divided into two. Seven leaders, four destroying fences. Now he (the rider on the Maung Lodaya statue) is among the four,” said Head of Public Relations of the West Java Police, Kombes Ibrahim Tompo when confirmed, Saturday (29 /1/2022).

Ibrahim said that the rider on the Maung Lodaya statue with the initials JJ was proven to have damaged the fence at the West Java Police Headquarters. “He was also proven to have done damage. So he was proven to have pushed the fence, damaged the fence. So we don’t focus on the Maung, but it is indeed the destroyer of the fence that he was proven to have done,” said Ibrahim.

The articles applied are Article 170 of the Criminal Code, 160 of the Criminal Code and 406 of the Criminal Code. The penalty is nine years in prison. The suspects are currently languishing in the West Java Police Headquarters detention cell.

“Detained (the suspects),” said Ibrahim.

For your information, the GMBI mass demonstration led to anarchy in front of the West Java Police Headquarters, Bandung City, Thursday (27/1). Hundreds of people were arrested by the police, including the General Chairperson of GMBI M Fauzan.

Of the 731 people arrested, 11 were named suspects. Fauzan was also named a suspect.
