Glennis Grace will perform with Afrojack on 16 May during the final of the Eurovision Song Contest in Ahoy Rotterdam. That was announced on Monday in a talk show On 1.
According to Gerben Bakker, the plan is ‘Head of Show’ at the Eurovision Song Contest, to show the best of the Netherlands.
“When you talk about the best in the Netherlands, you still think of our DJs. That is a good export product. Think of Amsterdam Dance Event, that is really our calling card.” The organization ended up with Afrojack, which itself comes from Rotterdam.
Afrojack really wanted to collaborate with Grace. During a five to six minute medley of songs from Afrojack, the singer will support him vocally.
Grace tells in On 1 that she had not doubted for a moment about the offer to sing at the Songfestival. “I didn’t even know what I was going to do, but I immediately said yes.”
It is not the first time for Grace to be seen at the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2005 she already participated as a representative of the Netherlands with the number My Impossible Dream. But then she did not advance to the final.
She says something about that On 1: “It was a very nice experience for me and I will never forget that. We just didn’t get that far and that was a shame.” She calls it “super nice” that she has now been asked for this.
