It is about a product called Vegan Stonebaked Pizza Margherita. “As a result of activities carried out by the State Sanitary Inspection, the presence of an allergenic substance – gluten, was detected in a product marked as gluten-free” – he informed on his website Chief Sanitary Inspectorate.

Gluten is an allergenic substance, consumption of the product by people who are allergic to the above-mentioned allergen may cause allergic reactions.

Which product exactly is it about?

The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate reported on its website details of the recalled product:

  • Distributor: Lidl Stiftung & Lidl Stiftung & Co. KG Stiftsbergstrase 1 DE-74167 Neckarsulm Germany;
  • Lot number: 19:36 2211A0610 03/10/2022;
  • Date of minimum durability: 10/03/2022.

As reported, the company Lidl sp. z oo sp. k., which is the distributor of the questioned product, withdrawn the product from the market immediately after receiving information about the non-compliance.

In recommendations to consumers GIS warns that people with allergies and people intolerant to gluten should not eat the products indicated in the announcement.

Pasta withdrawn from sale

On Thursday, GIS also informed about the company Makarony Polskie SA, ul. Podkarpacka 15a, 35-082 Rzeszów the withdrawal of certain batches of wholemeal pasta due to the exceedance of the maximum permissible level of deoxynivalenol (DON) in one product batch and in the raw material used for the production of products.

Deoxynivalenol is a toxin produced by fungi of the genus Fusarium that has harmful effects on human health.

As informed, the manufacturer immediately after receiving information about the detection of DON in one batch of pasta decided to recall also other related batches. In addition, the manufacturer performed tests on archival samples, which confirmed that the maximum permissible DON level was exceeded.
