In a playground, the girl briefly escaped the attention of her parents around 7:30 tonight, a police spokesperson said. After that, the emergency services were immediately called in.
A fire brigade diving team helped with the search. A report was also sent via Burgernet.

Not much later, the girl was found in the water. A trauma helicopter was called in, but that help came too late. Attempts to resuscitate the girl were to no avail.
The family is cared for by social workers.
