At 42, Gianluigi Buffon still does not intend to stop his career. The Italian legend, lining up at Juventus Turin this season (11 matches in all competitions), explained in a video on the Youtube channel de la Vieille Dame (not accessible in France), that he did not intend to hang up his crampons this summer. The goalkeeper again explained that he would have stopped his career if PSG did not come to pick him up in the summer of 2018 (25 matches in all competitions in the Red & Blue jersey).
“Two years ago, I almost almost stopped. Then PSG arrived and I’m still playing because I feel good and because I have respect for Gigi’s childhood dreams. If, at the age of seven or eight, I was told that I was going to be a goalie, even in Serie C or B, then I would have been excited and cried. I must have respect for this child“, Says Buffon in remarks relayed by RMC Sport.
