Brian Cashman, general manager of the mulesgave a long press conference today where he spoke about the future of the yankees injured and we were particularly struck by his view on the future of Giancarlo Stanton in this comeback of of MLB.
Are you ready Stanton for the return of Big leagues?
It seems so, although Cashman was a bit ambiguous: “If you are thinking about it DH, I may be ready ”, were the words of the manager of Yankees.
Which means a few things: Andujar’s lineup in the outfield is serious and if we see Giancarlo Stanton at the beginning of the season it will be like designated hitter.
Let’s remember that the position of DH it is not unknown to Stanton: In 2018 he played there 86 of the 158 games in which he lined up. And in 2019 in 5 of the 18 games he played came out as DH.
Obviously not the position that fans Yankees they want to see Stanton, but the power that it can provide from the batting box (especially if it does not go 100% physically again) will be essential for a good start of Yankees.

-Hicks: “I’m sure he thinks he’ll be game-ready by Opening Day, and I think that’s possible.”
-Stanton: “I think if you’re shooting for the DH role, he could be game-ready.”
