Ghost of Tsushima’s multiplayer part becomes standalone game

Ghost of Tsushima was hit by a multiplayer part some time after the game’s launch last year, and now this part of the game – known as Ghost of Tsushima: Legends – is also launched as a standalone game.

It will all take place on September 3, and means that you can then buy and play Legends without owning the main game. The advertised price is 16 British pounds, which is about 210 Norwegian kroner at today’s exchange rate. If you later want to upgrade to the full version of the game, this should also be possible.

For the occasion, Legends will have some new content, including a new two-on-two mode called Rivals, new cosmetics, new trophies, balance changes and an improved level system.

Just above the horizon also awaits Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, a renewed edition of the basic game that offers a whole new story and new areas to explore. The new edition will be released on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, and most of the audiovisual innovations will be exclusive on Sony’s latest console.

Those who own the original game on PlayStation 4 should be able to upgrade to about the version they want, but be prepared to scratch your head a bit and open your wallet at different angles depending on which edition you are looking for.

We really liked Ghost of Tsushima when it was released a little over a year ago:

– Sucker Punch has created an experience that oozes passion – right down to the smallest details like when Jin stretches out his hand as he walks through tall grass – and during my two weeks with the game I did not feel a second of boredom or similar feelings as can follow this type of game, wrote Andreas Klebo-Espe at the time.

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut is scheduled for launch on August 20.
