GGD: mopping with the tap open Inland

The GGD also notes that more and more social gatherings are taking place, such as weddings and funerals, where the distance rules are ignored. “If people do not follow the rules of conduct, then mopping with the tap is open,” warns umbrella organization GGD-Ghor.

Across the country, the various GGD and contacts are attempting to map out each new corona infection. However, even in contact investigations, some of the people surveyed who already carry the virus do not cooperate. Some refuse, despite the GGD advice, to go into isolation / quarantine. Others refuse to name contacts during the source and contact research.

The GGD-Ghor raises the alarm about this growing unwillingness. For the simple reason that this brings a new wave of hospitalizations and deaths closer. “If people do not (continue to) observe government rules of conduct, this will hinder GGDs in their work and it will be impossible to prevent further spread of the corona virus,” the GGD states on its website.

On Tuesday, the new RIVM figures already showed that the number of new infections doubled last week to more than 2500. The GGD’s cry for help comes just before Prime Minister Rutte holds another press conference on growing virus pressure on Thursday.
