Get to know Clement Turpin, Liverpool Vs Madrid Champions League Final Referee


Clement Turpin appointed as final referee Liga Champions between Liverpool vs Real Madrid. The following is a brief note about the French court.

Turpin, 40, will experience the thrill of a Champions League final for the first time. Even so, he has been poor across the international level since 2010.

In addition to regular duties in the French League, Turpin has also led 35 Champions League matches and 26 Europa League matches. He also took part in Euro 2016 and 2020 as well as the 2018 World Cup. Last year, he refereed the Europa League final between Villarreal vs Manchester United.

Turpin became the second referee to officiate the Champions League final in his own country, after Helmut Kohl (Austria) in 1990. The Liverpool vs Madrid duel is known to be held at the Stade de France, Paris, Sunday (29/5/2022) early morning WIB.

During his time on the European scene, he led Liverpool and Madrid matches several times. You could say, both teams did not have bad experiences with him, when referring to the results of the match.

According to Diario AS records, Turpin has refereed Madrid matches four times, and all of them ended in victory. Meanwhile, Liverpool got two wins and one draw from the three matches led by him.
