Get 2,800 T of Vaccine Investment

One of the richest people in the world and founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates revealed that he had benefited from investment in vaccinations. The profit reached US$ 200 billion or equivalent to Rp. 2.864 trillion (exchange rate of Rp. 14,321).

“We think there’s a 20-to-1 return on $200 billion over those 20 years or so,” Gates told Squawk Box, quoted from CNBC, Tuesday (18/1/2022).

He got this profit after through his foundation, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation also invested US$ 10 billion or equivalent to Rp. 143 trillion to various vaccination manufacturers.

The vaccine producers in question are the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, and Tuberculosis and Malaria, the Global Polio Eradication Initiative.

Not just profit, Bill Gates claims that it also helps children meet nutrition and prevent disease.

“Helping young children, getting proper nutrition, contribute to their country having returns that go beyond ordinary financial returns,” he said.

Seeing this, Bill Gates has indeed been in the spotlight during the pandemic. He, through his foundation, is an active party in injecting funds for the handling of COVID-19, including vaccinations.

At the start of the vaccinations, the Gates Foundation took steps to disburse funds to the pharmaceutical company CureVac. Quoting from The Nation, Gates invested US$ 40 million or the equivalent of Rp 572 billion.
