Germany plans to raise the minimum wage to 10.45 euros per hour

Currently, the minimum hourly wage rate in Germany is 9.35 euros.

The commission is made up of representatives of trade unions, employers and academia, and it unanimously supported raising the minimum wage.

The government now needs to prepare appropriate amendments to the law and is expected to take the commission’s recommendation into account.

It is planned to increase the minimum wage in four rounds. Starting from the first January 1, 2021, it will be 9.5 euros, from July 1, 2021 it will be increased to 9.6 euros, from the beginning of 2022 it will be 9.82 euros and from the same year 1 July it should finally reach 10.45 euros per hour.

The general minimum wage in Germany was introduced on January 1, 2015, setting its hourly rate at 8.5 euros.
