German TV channel showing the famous furry residents of Nunton in the Wildlife Sanctuary

Residents of the wildlife sanctuary Neunton are shown on German television.

Woody the blind fox has made the most bizarre of best friends – hanging out with brambles and sharing food with greyhound Orla at the Auston Road Animal Shelter.

The fox, rescued by the team, is shown around his house by two of his best friends – and their unusual relationship caught the attention of German TV producers ProSieben.

In fact, it’s so much the case that crews from German television production company MEWork will be in town next month to film the trio – as well as the work of Jeff Grewcock, who founded the campus 21 years ago, and his daughter Emma W. Your team of volunteers.

The shelter takes calls from residents and emergency services, and has appeared on a number of TV shows.

“We have a TV crew from Germany – they’re doing a series about extraordinary relationships with animals and they have to see how Woody treats Bramble and the dog,” Emma said.

“So we’re doing an episode that’s going to be filmed for her series. You’ll look at the animals and their relationships, but also some tapestry for the day-to-day running of the shelter.”

“They will go out with us on rescue and rescue operations – they will talk to our volunteers.”

“The channel is the same as Germany Has Got Talent and The Voice Germany – it’s a big entertainment channel.

“We look forward to them coming and seeing what we’re doing here.”

The arrival of the crews comes at a time when the sanctuary is calling for donations.

Charities, like many organizations, have been impacted by the pandemic, which has made hosting fundraisers difficult.
