German suspect in Maddie McCann case transferred to an …

The German suspect in the disappearance of the British girl Madeleine McCann is transferred to another German prison. The 43-year-old moves from Kiel to Wolfenbüttel, where the German justice suspects him of other sexual crimes and is investigating them.

Madeleine McCann (3) disappeared on May 3, 2007 from the holiday apartment her parents had rented at the Ocean Club in Praia da Luz in the Algarve. The child disappeared while the parents were eating with friends a little further away.

At the beginning of June, the German justice and police surprisingly announced that they suspect the 43-year-old German Christian B. of the kidnapping and murder of “Maddie”. The suspect is serving a prison sentence for drug trafficking until January 7. In addition, he was sentenced to seven years a year ago for raping a 72-year-old American woman in 2005, also in Praia da Luz. Ten days ago his appeal against that sentence was dismissed.

B. is now moving from a cell in Kiel in Schleswig-Holstein to Wolfenbüttel in Lower Saxony. As a result, the prisoner can soon be questioned nearby. The prosecutor expects to be clear within a few months whether the suspect can be charged in the other sex cases. The German researchers believe that Maddie is no longer alive.
