German minister criticizes comparison of coronabetogers with Anne Frank | Abroad

At a protest against the corona restrictions in Hanover, a young woman said on Saturday that she felt like Sophie Scholl, a German student who was executed by the Nazis in 1943 for her role in the resistance. The speech in which she draws this comparison has been viewed over a million times on social media, with some sharply condemning her.

Furious reactions

Last week, an 11-year-old girl in an anti-mouth hood protest in Karlsruhe compared herself to the Nazi victim Anne Frank, because she had to celebrate her birthday quietly so that the neighbors wouldn’t hear that friends were invited. This caused furious reactions. The local police spoke of an “inappropriate and tasteless” comparison.

In Germany there is a lot of demonstration against the measures to prevent the spread of the corona virus. Protests will also be held on Sunday, in Berlin, among others.
