Gerindra Holds Extraordinary Congress Today, Prabowo Will Be Assigned as General Chair Again

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Gerindra Party held an Extraordinary Congress ( KLB), This Saturday (8/8/2020).

DPP Communication Board members Gerindra Andre Rosiade said one of the KLB agendas was to re-establish Prabowo Subianto as chairman of the party for the period 2020-2025.

“Yes (to be appointed chairman again), according to the recommendations of all DPC and DPD,” said Andre when contacted.

Prabowo Subianto currently also serves as Minister of Defense in the cabinet of President Joko Widodo’s administration.

Andre said the KLB was held in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java. According to the agenda, the KLB starts at 10.00 WIB.

Secretary General Gerindra Ahmad Muzani, last Friday, stated that President Joko Widodo and PDI-P Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri would give virtual remarks at the KLB.

“Mrs. Hj Megawati Soekarnoputri will congratulate and welcome all Gerindra Party cadres in holding a virtual extraordinary congress,” said Muzani.

“After that, Indonesian President Joko Widodo will give a virtual speech at the opening of the congress,” he said.

According to Muzani, the KLB will be followed virtually by all leaders of the Gerindra Party DPD, the Board of Trustees, the Central Executive Council, and the District / City Branch Leadership Councils, including members of the City / Regency / Provincial DPRD.

All Gerindra Party administrators at the subdistrict level can also participate in the KLB process at their respective DPC offices.
