Geri Halliwell: ‘I thank my horse for the courage to perform again’ | NOW

Geri Halliwell thinks she owes the courage to perform with the Spice Girls again because of her now deceased horse Beauty, she tells her on Sunday. Youtube Channel.

“I didn’t feel connected to my fans,” Halliwell, 48, explains how she developed a fear of performing around the age of 30. “Perhaps I had taken them for granted too much.” In her own words, the singer had to fight to build a bond with her horse.

“When I found Beauty, I regained my courage,” said the singer about the purchase of the horse in 2018. “By sitting in the saddle, I felt freedom that I had not experienced for a long time.”

‘Urge for freedom greater than fear’

“That urge to connect and feel freedom was greater than my fear,” Halliwell recalls. “And I think I owe that to Beauty.”

In the summer of 2019, the Spice Girls gave thirteen shows in the United Kingdom. Victoria Beckham was not seen in the reunion concerts. In April, band member Emma Bunton announced that the group plans to schedule new concerts planas soon as major events are allowed again.

Beauty died in 2020 from complications during surgery. Halliwell said he was advised to go horseback riding again and is now doing so on Hank.
