The issue of providing Bulgarian weapons to Ukraine divides not only society but also the ruling coalition. During the week, the opposition accused the government that Bulgarian weapons are still used in Ukraine and this happened after our country sold to Poland.
The Ministry of Economy explained that the supplies are under old contracts, but we do not export to Kyiv. The BSP is adamant that it will not support the parliament’s decision to provide weapons. Former Deputy Minister of Defense of GERB Valentin Radev is a guest in “Speak Now” with a comment on the topic.
Machine repairs are slow – when could this happen? Second – in what condition are our plants? What else can we do – the staff is long gone, the factories were mismanaged. What about spare parts – where will we get them? Thus, Radev commented on the possibility of repairing military equipment in Ukraine.

We sell to Poland and other EU countries – they give them to Ukraine. We sell them to Poland, instead of giving them to Ukraine, Radev explained about the export of weapons from Bulgaria.
Certainly there are signed certificates for the final recipient. They are definitely going to Poland. We should ask if she gives them to a third party. There is no way there will be no control – if not ours, European, Radev is categorical.
The extraordinary session of the National Assembly is on May 4, in the afternoon, and the proposal of GERB’s General Assembly is recorded there. The hall can solve everything, we assume that our proposal will be supported, Radev believes.
According to him, the decision of the parliament will nuance the decision of the government, but in a way convenient for the leader of the BSP and coalition partner Cornelia Ninova, who is against sending weapons to Ukraine.
