Gerald Hüther: “We have to deprive the school of its importance”

WORLD: Mr. Hüther, you say that education must serve to equip young people with all the skills they need to make their own lives. Is not that so?

Gerald Hüther: So far we thought that this could be done in educational institutions, such as schools. Now we find that the school is completely overloaded with all the demands that are placed on it.
