The fourteen close friends were already included in the actor’s will anyway. “If I got run over by a bus, they would get money. But why the hell would I wait for that? ”Said Clooney.

One of the lucky ones was businessman Rande Gerber (58), the husband of model Cindy Crawford (54). He previously revealed in an interview that the Oscar winner invited his closest friends, including himself, one night and at the end of the dinner gave them a briefcase each containing a million dollars in cash.

“I wanted to thank them for everything they have done for me,” continues Clooney. “Besides, I had no wife or children at the time. I thought I would never have a family. But I did have those close friends who had helped me out several times. I slept on their sofas when I was broke. They lent me money when I needed it. Without them I could have accomplished much less. ”

Clooney is now happily married to lawyer and activist Amal (42). In 2017, they also became the proud parents of twins Alexander and Ella. “I was nevertheless convinced that I would never get married,” the actor admits. “I had accepted that. I enjoyed my job, had good friends and felt fulfilled. It wasn’t until I met Amal that I realized my life was far from complete. Suddenly I thought someone else’s life was more important than mine. ”

Funny detail: during the Zoom interview with GQ, Clooney was interrupted when his son Alexander suddenly appeared on the screen. “Hey, come and say hello. You have chocolate on your face. Do you know that? ”The actor joked. Then the toddler told how old he was and he also spoke a few words of Italian.
