The literature teacher Marisa Cavanna bequeath 25 million euros to hospitals, non-profit organizations, institutions and associations. In his will, among the heirs, they appear in fact 16 entities, many of which in the province of Genoa. In addition to the bequest, before dying on December 9, the 96-year-old former teacher had also prepared his obituary, in which he thanked the medici who had assisted her and all the students she met during her long career, without forgetting the donna who in the last months of her life assisted and cared for her, to whom she destined 3.7 million euros. Reserved and very religious, “Signorina Cavanna” as a friend called her, had been teacher until retirement.
Nobody knows the origin of his huge patrimony. The teacher Cavanna she had never married and lived alone. Of her assets of 40 million euros, the professor has decided to allocate 5 million toGalliera hospital, together with a prestigious villa. Another 5 million perGaslini pediatric hospital, as well as al Don Orione, which also receives all the furnishings of the Cavanna villa. Another 5 million go toItalian Association for Cancer Research. Finally, almost another 4 million are then divided between: Amnesty International, Friends without Borders, Save the Children, Foundation Don Carlo Gnocchi, Italian Association of Friends of Roul Follereau, Gold Thread League, Missionary Sisters of Charity Work Mother Teresa of Calcutta. And again Little Sisters of the Poor, Foundation Opera S. Francesco dei Poveri, Missions Associations Don bosco and Work of Assistance “Smile project in the world”.
