“Don’t be afraid to take a bold stand, to want and to change. Bulgaria needs change and activity. You will bring the country to a worthy place in world politics, economy, culture, where we should be”. That said, the presidential candidate, nominated by the Initiative Committee and supported by the BSP, gen. Rumen Radev during a round table with students from the “Student Club of the Political Scientist” at the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. He expressed his joy that many young Bulgarians still stay in our country to finish their education and work. The general stressed that these young people should also be helped by the state. Radev explained that many students are currently graduating, but there is no assessment of the occupations in demand in the ore market. “The best role of the state in this situation is to make a connection between the real environment in the economy and education.” According to him, sought-after specialties should be stimulated with scholarships from business, as is done in the West. He pointed out that he intends to include more young people in the administration of the presidency, who will grow in it and have room for development. Radev added that a huge obstacle for young people in Bulgaria to start working is the lack of internships, despite the acquired education.

Unlike other presidential candidates, he has no experience in political schemes, corporate interests, and changing parties. “The president must also be impartial has the moral foundations, internal strength and independence to be able to stand up for the separation of powers and be corrective,” Gen. Rumen Radev said categorically.
The students of the club thanked the general for being the first of the presidential candidates to respond to their invitation to a round table. In the discussion that lasted more than two hours, they put dozens of questions to Gen. Radev in various spheres, including Bulgaria’s relations with Russia, Turkey and the USA; our membership of the EU and NATO; national security; the demographic crisis; the refugees; military diplomacy; the economic development of Bulgaria; main problems facing our country; education and culture; development of young people in defense of the national interests of our country.
