Hardware News GeForce Now and games that are disappearing from the catalog: watch out for Netflix syndrome! (video)
–
On February 21, Bethesda made the decision to remove most of its games from the catalog of GeForce Now, the cloud-gaming service launched by Nvidia. A blow, especially since it follows the disappearance of the Activision-Blizzard games, which occurred on February 11. We therefore ask the question on video: and if these withdrawals became widespread, what would be the impact on the video game streaming market?
Like SVOD services – like Netflix or Prime Video – which regularly see movies and series removed from their catalogs, can cloud-gaming follow the same path? What will happen if, after spending 15 hours on a game, you realize overnight that you can no longer launch it because of an editor’s decision? If we are not yet quite there, the question of the sustainability of a cloud-gaming catalog deserves to be asked and debated.
