Geely Galaxy L7: Prices & Features of the New Mid-Size Hybrid Crossover in China

The Geely Galaxy L7 mid-size hybrid crossover has officially entered the Chinese market, prices have been announced. The asset of the novelty includes 5 trim levels, a new generation power system and proprietary architecture from Geely and Volvo.

Just a couple of weeks ago, “Chinese cars” talked about the first Galaxy L7, which were seen in dealerships in the Middle Kingdom as exhibition samples. And now this car can already be purchased at a price of 138.7 to 173.7 thousand yuan (1.57-1.97 million rubles). The design of the crossover is made in the new corporate style of Galaxy Light, and it is based on the proprietary E-CMA architecture developed by Geely and Volvo.

The dimensions of the L7 are 4700 x 1905 x 1685 mm with a wheelbase of 2785 mm. This means that in terms of dimensions it is as close as possible to the Skoda Kodiaq. The car is equipped with a rechargeable hybrid installation of the new generation NordThor Hybrid 8848. It is powered by a 1.5-liter BHE15-BFZ gasoline engine with a capacity of 163 hp. (255 Nm) and a 146 hp electric motor. (338 Nm). The 3-speed DHT Pro hybrid transmission is responsible for their “communication”. The total return of such a power bundle is 390 hp. and 535 Nm. Thanks to this, the crossover will accelerate from zero to “hundreds” in 6.9 seconds. And its maximum speed is 200 km / h.

Depending on the configuration, the traction battery of the plug-in hybrid can have a capacity of 9.1 or 18.7 kWh. The range on the first battery will be 55 km, on the second – 115 km, respectively (according to the CLTC standard). The maximum mileage of the Galaxy L7 with a fully filled tank (60 liters) and a charged battery will be 1310 km and 1370 km (CLTC).

The hybrid crossover was offered in five trim levels. They will differ not only in equipment, but also in battery capacity.

Geely Galaxy L7 prices start at 138.7 thousand yuan (1.57 million rubles). In this, basic version, the crossover will receive a minimum battery with a capacity of 9.1 kWh. And its equipment will include options such as 18-inch alloy wheels, a tire pressure monitoring system, two airbags, a rear-view camera and rear parking sensors, a panoramic roof, cruise control, a 10.25-inch instrument panel, 13.2- inch vertical control screen, LED headlights and daytime running lights, light and rain sensors, climate control, 8-speaker audio system and voice control.

The next configuration with a price of 143.7 thousand yuan (1.63 million rubles) will receive a similar battery. But its equipment will additionally include 19-inch alloy wheels, air curtains, 360-degree all-round cameras and front parking sensors, a power driver’s seat and a 16.2-inch personal screen for the front passenger.

The average version of the crossover is estimated at 153.7 thousand yuan (1.74 million rubles). With its equipment, it repeats the previous configuration, but has an increased traction battery with a volume of 18.7 kWh. By the way, the two remaining models will have the same battery.

The fourth complete set of Galaxy L7 costs 163.7 thousand yuan (1.86 million rubles). Unlike the average, it will be able to offer two more airbags, an ADAS system, adaptive cruise control, an intelligent driving system at the L2 level, a power tailgate, wireless mobile phone charging, a power front passenger seat, adaptive head light and atmospheric interior lighting.

The cost of the top performance is 173.7 thousand yuan (1.97 million rubles). In addition to the previous configuration, this equipment will include: a panoramic sunroof, a 25.6-inch head-up display on the windshield AR-HUD, a front passenger seat with a retractable ottoman function, ventilation and massage, an Infinity audio system with 11 speakers and a climate system with ionizer and fragrance function.

The audience of the novelty will be mainly young families.

Five main body colors are available for the crossover: white, purple, gray, black and blue. And for the maximum configuration there is an additional exclusive shade. Its name can be translated as “Galaxy Colorful White”.

Recall that according to the plan of the Chinese brand by 2025, the new Galaxy family should have at least 7 models, including both hybrids and pure electric cars. Following the new crossover, two sedans are due to enter the market this year – the hybrid L6 and the all-electric E8. Geely has three models planned for 2024: two crossovers (an electric E7 and a hybrid L5) and an electric sedan/wagon E6. Well, the large L9 hybrid crossover will close the new product line. Its premiere is scheduled for 2025.
