A diver exploring the wreckage of ORP “Delfin”, which was lost on Thursday evening, was found in the wreck on Friday. The diver’s friends found the body. The police explain the circumstances of the man’s death.

The information about the finding of the diver’s body was confirmed on Friday by Maciej Stęplewski from the press office of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Gdańsk. – The diver’s body was found in the wreckage of the ship by his colleagues – said Stęplewski.

The scuba diver went missing on Thursday at around 6 p.m. The information from the Polish Rescue Radio was sent to the Marine Rescue Coordination Center in Gdynia that there was a dive in the wreckage of the “Delfin” unit in the waters of the Puck Bay. This wreck is located in the middle of the Puck Bay between Kuźnica and Reda. One of the divers did not emerge from the water.

To search for the missing SAR, it ordered its own rescue boat R-20, WOPR and the vessel of the Sea Border Guard Unit SG-071. Fire divers and friends of the missing person also participated in the search. The search was stopped on Thursday evening and the diver was declared missing according to procedures.

According to the divers24.pl portal, diving participants are Poles living abroad who spent their holidays in Poland. “One of the dive participants ventured into the wreckage. Unfortunately, he did not put a railing rope to secure himself and be able to find his way back. Moving down the staircase he reached the lower deck. Visibility inside the wreck was very poor and there were problems with the return. “- says the portal. The prosecutor’s office opened an investigation into the accident.
