GDS sales: Saber terminates contract with Lufthansa

Saber offers one of the most important global distribution systems. Lufthansa and the GDS provider could no longer agree. The contract has now been terminated.

Around seven out of ten tickets are sold via GDS providers such as Amadeus, Galileo or Saber.

The sales channel GDS is still important for Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa and Swiss, despite efforts to steer to their own websites. However, there have been repeated disputes about fees for some time.

Talks continue

A spokesman for Saber said that they had worked with the Lufthansa Group to renew the GDS distribution agreement.
