Gas price freeze and gas surcharge in 2023
In 2023, gas tariffs for households in communities, cooperatives and sensitive entities will be frozen at the 2022 level. The prime minister had previously announced that the government would most likely decide to apply the income criterion, which would mean that subsidies for gas in 2023 would not apply to everyone. However, that didn’t happen. The principle of a frozen gas tariff will apply to everyone, regardless of income threshold. Furthermore for the poorest there will be a gas supplementi.e. reimbursement of VAT costs incurred.
