Gard and Vaucluse still on orange alert for high heat

2 departments of France remain on level 3 heat wave alert, Gard and Vaucluse. Vigilance is maintained because during the day, the mercury will exceed 35°C and the nights remain warm around 23°C.

The minimum temperatures on Monday morning are similar to the previous night, between 20 and 24°C in the Rhône valley, 16 to 20°C on the surrounding hills.

For this day of Monday, the maximum expected temperatures are around 35 to 38°C.

The night from Monday to Tuesday will be more pleasant with an expected slight drop in temperatures in the Rhône Valley, around 22°C.

On Tuesday, the maximum temperatures remain between 34 and 37°C.

Since June 1, Paris has experienced 8 nights where the temperature has been greater than or equal to 20 degrees against only one last summer, 11 in 2020 (for the whole summer), and 16 both in 2003 and in 1976 .

Nîmes has already experienced 40 nights at this threshold since June 1, compared to 30 in 2021, 41 in 2019, 52 in 2003 and 8 in 1976.
