This Wednesday, at the trial of Nabil B. and his two alleged accomplices, tried for the assault which cost the victim an eye – aged 16 at the time of the events – each said that the other had drawn the first. Who a knife, who a shotgun.
But at least, the civil party and the accused agree on a sad observation: in Gennevilliers (Hauts-de-Seine), depending on whether one is from the Agnettes district or the city of 3F (the red city), one is friends or foes. This results in beatings, possibly filmed and broadcast on Snapchat.
Marouane (first name has been changed), hit by Nabil’s shotgun fire on March 6, 2018, grew up in Agnettes. But six months before his assault, his mother moved to settle in rue Henri-Barbusse, not far from the city of 3F. “I knew there were risks. Moving where it could be dangerous for me was difficult, ”explains the young man at the helm.
“Do you know the reasons for this rivalry? », Asks the president, Gaëlle Paris-Muller. ” No. And he repeats it, he “never took part in the brawls”. “So why do you feel in danger in this neighborhood?” “Well, because everyone knew I was Agnettes.” “
“He had a gun, I got scared”
On her aggression in itself, Marouane says: “I left my house very early, I was going to a friend’s house. (Editor’s note: with Agnettes) to revise the white bac exams. In 2018, the young man was preparing for a computer science baccalaureate at Newton high school in Clichy. He only covers a hundred meters. “I saw Nabil come out of a dead end, he had a weapon. I got scared, I ran. I had pulled out my knife. It was then that I received shots. I fell on the ground. “
In the photos of Marouane’s injured face, broadcast to the audience, a constellation of impacts pierces his left cheek and left temple. The grains of shot have entered the right eye, lost forever. “I wanted to work in IT but now, it tires me to be in front of the screens”, specifies the person concerned, when the president wants to know the consequences of his handicap.
“The blows, they left on their own”
“The photos, it hurt me, assures Nabil from the box, when the time comes for his interrogation. It makes me sad that he loses his eye for life. This preamble formulated, the young man related his version of the facts.
That morning, he was to go to his school in La Garenne-Colombes and he was waiting for the bus on avenue Chandon. “This is where Marouane comes in. As soon as he sees me, he takes out his knife, it clicks. And I pull out my gun. Suddenly, I see, he runs towards me and the blows, they left on their own. Basically it was accidental because I didn’t want to. “

Me Yassine Mahari, the accused’s lawyer, took a little semantics course to make his client understand that it could not be an accident. What the person ended up seizing, especially as the ballistics expert clearly said: you have to exert pressure with your finger to trigger the shot. And Nabil pulled the trigger three times.
Settlement of accounts
But why were these two high school students armed to go out early in the morning? “Because I was afraid of being attacked, I knew what was going on,” says Marouane. Nabil, he claims to have “found the weapon in a lamppost near the garbage room, at [son] father ”, on the evening of March 5, or“ the day before the act ”as he says.
“I wanted to protect myself, defend myself because around 9 pm, I was threatened on Snapchat. The account was AGN8, that means Agnettes 8. ”And already on March 4, he himself had been the victim of an assault. Pursued first by ten people and hit by two boys with crutches or iron bars. Nabil affirms that Marouane was among the attackers, he recognized his sneakers. Marouane denies it.
These two had in any case already clashed a few weeks earlier. Here again, their versions diverge. Marouane would have had the upper hand. “Why didn’t you file a complaint? »Asks the president to Nabil. “Because when I filed a complaint in 2017 against a father who assaulted me, it was said on social networks that I was a balance and I no longer wanted to look like a victim. “
Nabil’s friends, tried by his side, are being prosecuted for having hit the victim with a helmet on the head and hitting him with a hammer on the wrist.
The trial is due to end this Thursday evening.
