‘Game of Thrones’ sequel ‘House of the Dragon’ will do things differently

House of the Dragon is shot in a different location from the original series. HBO has confirmed that the series will not be shot in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Now they continue at Leavesden Studios in Watford.

That while the full eight seasons of Game of Thrones and the pilot for the now canceled spin-off The Long Night were recorded in Belfast. It is not known exactly why HBO chooses to move to a different location.

Fire & Blood

Serial House of the Dragon is based on the book Fire & Blood from George RR Martin. That is a history of the rise and fall of the Targaryen family, the only family of dragon rulers to survive the Doom of Valyria.

This series starts 300 years before the events in Game of Thrones and shows how the Targaryen family landed on the continent of Westeros and gradually conquered the entire continent. The show will be created by Martin and Ryan Condal, and Miguel Sapochnik will direct the pilot and some additional episodes.

The prequel series can be seen on HBO in 2022.
