Indie Adventure & Studio Launches Highlight Busy Week in Gaming
Baltimore, MD – November 9, 2024 – A flurry of announcements this week signals a vibrant period for both established and emerging game developers.From a major update to a accomplished RPG to teh formation of a new studio comprised of industry veterans, and an indie title making its way to Nintendo Switch, gamers have much to anticipate.
Sackbird Studios officially launched on Wednesday, founded by developers previously involved with The Elder Scrolls Online and Zenimax‘s Project Blackbird. The Baltimore-based team expressed a desire to move away from the pressures of large-scale, quarterly-driven progress. “After years of AAA game development, we longed for leave to risk a little or not to chase quarterly target numbers,” the studio stated in its official announcement. Details regarding their first project for PC and consoles remain scarce.
Simultaneously occurring, Sandfall Interactive announced that sales of their RPG, The Clair Obscur, have surpassed five million units.To celebrate, a substantial free update, “Expedition 33,” is on the horizon. This update will introduce a new location, challenging late-game bosses, and a selection of new character outfits.
Nintendo fans also received a tantalizing update regarding a mysterious animated video previously circulating online. A revised version of the “Close to You” video, shared on X,reveals Pikmin as a featured game.
Ubisoft is partnering with Brazilian studio Hermit Crab Game Studio to bring Sportia,a multi-sport arcade collection,to PC and consoles. the game promises optional characters, an open world, and a variety of mini-games, as showcased in the first teaser trailer.
a dark-minded adventure game, described as a 19th-century reinterpretation, originally released in 2024, is set to arrive on Nintendo Switch on November 17th.
