Recently, game enthusiast @balika011 posted on Twitter, saying that he has successfully modified the Steam Deck portable game console, increasing its RAM capacity to 32GB.
@balika011 said that this transformation is not an easy task, but that the RAM chip needs to be desoldered first, and then re-soldered to install a higher-capacity processor, which is a very cumbersome process. If it is an ordinary player, without the necessary equipment and corresponding skills, it is impossible to complete this transformation.
Today I did another #SteamDeck mod. Upgraded the memory to 32GB! Let’s bring the upgrades to the next level! (Yes, I cleaned the flux off later.) pic.twitter.com/mHFMPLVqUI

Steam Deck is a portable game console developed by Valve. The Steam OS installed on the device supports running other game platforms and can run the games on them. Steam Deck’s official RAM configuration is 16GB LPDDR5, which is more than enough to run Linux systems and play games, and the manufacturer Valve has no plans to launch a new Steam Deck with larger RAM for the time being.
