Gallows halts construction work on the Obama Presidential Center

Construction work on Chicago’s “Obama Presidential Center” has been halted after the discovery of the noose, a racial symbol in the United States, according to the coalition overseeing the project.
The rope was found on Thursday morning, which symbolizes the lynchings carried out against black males in the American South between the 19th and 20th centuries.
“We are terrified this could happen to our site and will be offering a $100,000 reward to help find the individual or individuals responsible for this work,” said the Lakeside Coalition, a group of black-owned construction companies building a center for ex-Americans President Barack Obama, shameful.
“We have no tolerance for any form of prejudice or hatred in the workplace,” the coalition said in a statement released Thursday, noting that it has suspended all operations to provide anti-bias training and conversations to its employees.
Illinois Governor JB Pritzker called the rope “more than a symbol of racism.”
“It’s a horrific reminder of the violence and terror Black Americans have endured for centuries,” he wrote on Twitter.
The Obama Presidential Center will include a museum, library, classrooms, meeting rooms, basketball court and playground.
