AND inflation will not “eat” the income that pensioners will receive from the additional BGN 120 and from the recalculation of pensions from December 25. This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic and Social Policies and the Minister of Labor and Social Policy in the Cabinet in the transmission of BNT “Panorama”, BTA reported.
He noted that there will be a larger increase in the amount of pensions,
and the income that retirees will receive will be higher than the accumulated inflation since the beginning of the year.
Donev pointed out that what happened during the adoption of the update of the three laws in the National Assembly – on the state budget and the budgets of the Social Security and the National Health Insurance Fund – was more like an election campaign than a meaningful parliamentary debate.
The caretaker Deputy Prime Minister said that if no steps have been taken
on the update, this anti-crisis and temporary addition would be over at some point. He reminded that Bulgarian pensioners are one of the most endangered by poverty and social exclusion in Europe.
Minister Donev noted that the changes in pensions are a permanent measure. This update was made to ensure the financial stability of the system, he commented.
