The late Gabby Petito’s fiancé, Brian Laundrie, has been missing for two weeks – and is referred to by the police “as a person of interest” in connection with his girlfriend’s death.
It was on September 11 that Gabby Petito was reported missing, and eight days later she was found dead. The FBI thinks that she was killed.
At the same time, Laundrie is now sunk into the ground.
His parents, Chris and Roberta Laundrie, have stated since their son’s disappearance that they do not know where he is, something their lawyer repeated no later than Monday this week.
– Chris and Roberta Laundrie do not know where Brian is. They are worried about Brian and hope the FBI can find him, said lawyer Steven Bertolino.

However, Gabby’s parents do not trust this, according to their welfare lawyer, Richard Stafford.
On their behalf, he expressed skepticism about the Laundrie parent’s desire for his son to be found, writes CNN.
– The Laundrie family did not help us find Gabby. They are definitely not going to help us find Brian, Stafford said at a news conference yesterday.
– To Brian; we ask you to surrender to the FBI or the nearest police authority, he added.

Spotlight on the parents
The spotlight has been targeted at Brian’s parents after his disappearance.
Among other things, the neighbors of Laundrie’s parents in North Port, Florida, have claimed that they saw Brian and his parents drive away with a caravan the same day that Petito was reported missing, according to Business Insider.
Another neighbor has told the local channel WINK-TV that he also saw Brian Laundrie and his family drive away with the caravan on September 11th.
None of the alleged eyewitnesses have said that they saw Brian Laundrie return from this trip.
After Gabby Petito was reported missing, police knocked on Brian Laundrie’s door. The parents then refused to let them talk to the son, who they claimed was in the house, writes The New York Post.
“We spoke to his parents, who did not make him available,” North Port Police spokesman Josh Taylor said warn.
To CNN he said police had been trying to contact Brian Laundrie and his family for many days.

Brian’s parents, after his disappearance, have reported him missing.
At the same time, they deny that they have anything to do with the son’s disappearance, according to CNN.
– The speculation from the public and some in the press that the parents helped Brian to leave the family or avoid arrest of an order issued after Brian had already been missing for several days, is just wrong, said the parents’ lawyer, Steven Bertolino, on a press conference Monday.

Petito and his girlfriend Brian Laundrie (23) went on a road trip together in July, with plans to cross the United States.
Originally, the couple was to return in October, but in early September Laundrie returned home alone.
On August 12, a few weeks before the last sign of life came, the couple was stopped by police on their way to Arches National Park in the state of Utah.
On video police in Moab released Friday, showing footage from the cameras worn by U.S. police officers in uniform. It appears that Petito had had a harrowing quarrel with his girlfriend.
