G20 meeting in Rome seeks solution to Covid-19 pandemic / Article

The G20 health ministers will discuss the next steps in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic in Rome on Sunday, September 5. The talks will focus on Covid-19 and strategies to combat future pandemics.

Representatives of the Italian government, which has suffered greatly from the Covid-19 pandemic and is hosting the meeting, have said that solidarity and fair access to vaccines are important in this crisis.

Germany announced at the meeting that it plans to allocate 100 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine to an international vaccination campaign by the end of the year, with the aim of having 40% of the world’s population vaccinated by the beginning of next year.

Countries are also discussing how to share scientific information.
